Art has always been part of Ignota Pothon’s life. Since childhood, she likes to observe people, nature, spaces, architecture and living areas. The desire to create pieces of art, to set up atmospheres and to play with daily life’s objects gave her the passion for ceramic.

Art has always been part of Ignota Pothon’s life. Since childhood, she likes to observe people, nature, spaces, architecture and living areas. The desire to create pieces of art, to set up atmospheres and to play with daily life’s objects gave her the passion for ceramic.

After studying applied arts and ceramic at The Academy of Fine Arts of Vilnius (Lithuania), Ignota Pothon entered the Higher School of Applied Arts Duperré in Paris. She graduated in 2011 with honours and ranking first student. Her creations were several times awarded at international ceramic competitions.

Ignota Pothon works with both common techniques (modeling and shaping) and other personal techniques that she developed through her artistic journey. She plays with shapes, materials and poetry. In her hands, clay are alive, breathes and becomes the way to express herself. Her creations are unique and hand-made.
